New IBO Experience

As a major multi-level marketer, Amway relies heavily on ease-of-access to their business model to give anyone the opportunity to sell wellness products and start a business with minimal overhead. When they tasked us with re-designing the packaging of their previous Product Starter Kit for new Independent Business Owners (IBOs), our team took it several steps further and devised an entire experience around this proverbial business in a box, front to back.

 

Originally, the client's starter kit contained minimal information, and an assortment of sample products to have customers or IBOs "try before they buy". We expanded upon this by creating a decision journey: an unboxing experience that greets customers every step of the way. Once inside, the recipient would be met with introductory literature to help them get started, and an intuitively-arranged assortment of wellness and home products. We included a set of sample bags for customers or IBOs to get started sharing their new products to interested individuals right away. We also created and included a business journal, with more detailed tips and tricks to the trade to introduce people to the Amway experience and help them get started selling. I also ended up developing promotional material as well, including directing a video all about the kit itself.

 

Sadly, the client had to make cost cuts, and the final version of the kit did not include my handle concept from my renderings below. I would have loved for the kit to be as easy to tote around as a briefcase, but in the end, I'm very content with the little journey we created with this project.
